Our Essential Oil Starter Kit comes with three essential oils that help relax, energize, and uplift.
Lavandin Essential Oil:
Our steam distilled Lavandin Essential Oil, Lavandula hybrida, is a hybrid of traditional Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) and Spike Lavender (Lavandula latifolia).
Aromatically, Lavandin Essential Oil possesses the lovely characteristic aroma of Lavender Essential Oil, but does have an underlying camphorous aroma due to its greater composition of camphor and cineole that is present in lavandin.
Lavandin Essential Oil blends especially well with other essential oils within the floral, citrus, mint and conifer families. Emotionally, it is more invigorating than traditional Lavender Essential Oil, Lavandula angustifolia, due to the composition of camphor and cineole. Within aromatherapy and wellness applications, its composition makes it well suited for use within personal care, fragrancing and cleaning applications intended to support wellness and a healthy environment.
True Lavender Essential Oil typically only contains trace amounts of cineole and camphor and thus smells more floral than does Lavandin Essential Oil. We recommend using Lavandin Essential Oil for emotional wellness and encouraging a calm, relaxed outlook.
Eucalyptus Citriodora Essential Oil:
Eucalyptus Citriodora Essential Oil, also known as Lemon Eucalyptus, Lemon-Scented Gum or as Corymbia citriodora, is steam distilled from organic Eucalyptus Citriodora, an aromatic tree that is found in Australia, India and in temperate climates.
Organic Eucalyptus Citriodora Essential Oil is typically selected for the same room diffusion and chest balm types of applications that Eucalyptus Globulus Essential Oil is traditionally called upon for. However, Organic Eucalyptus Citriodora Essential Oil possesses a sweeter, more lemony aroma that many prefer over Eucalyptus Globulus Essential Oil.
In holistic aromatherapy applications, Organic Eucalyptus Citriodora Essential Oil is typically considered to be energizing and uplifting. Is can be used in blends to help promote focus and clarity. In addition, it helps repel bugs.
Aromatically, Organic Eucalyptus Citriodora Essential Oil blends well with peppermint, spearmint, lavender, lemon and other citrus oils and cedarwood and other wood oils.
Lemon Essential Oil:
Lemon Essential Oil, Citrus limonium, is cold pressed from the peels of the fruit. It possesses a fresh, uplifting, lemony aroma. It is a pleasant and functional addition to cleaning formulations and air fresheners. Lemon Essential Oil helps to clean and cut grease while imparting a pleasant citrus aroma.
Within hair and skin care applications, the astringency of Lemon Essential Oil makes it useful for combating oily skin and hair. Within holistic aromatherapy, the bright, citrus scent is stimulating, but it also is said to aid in focus and concentration. Lemon Essential Oil is often used by spas and incorporated into body massage oils, body wraps and salt soaks.
Our Lemon Essential Oil is naturally abundant in limonene, a monoterpene that is highly praised for its many beneficial properties and that contributes to the fresh, bright uplifting aroma of the oil.
Aromatically, Lemon Essential Oil is very versatile and blends well with other citrus essential oils and oils in the mint, floral, wood, herbaceous and spice families.
Cold pressed Lemon Essential Oil is phototoxic. For leave-on topical formulations, IFRA and Essential Oil Safety Edition 2 by Robert Tisserand and Rodney Young recommend a dermal maximum of 2%. If exceeding this guideline in topical applications, it is recommended that sun and UV exposure are avoided for at least 12 hours.
